Authors Note: I have decided to right a poem about frustration because I am on my last topic in pre-algebra but I can’t seem to pass it. I am going to try to use better word choice in this piece.
I’m beating my head against the wall but it’s not breaking.
I’m screaming and shouting but no one hears me.
I’m trying again and again and again and again but it’s not working.
I’m trying to make you understand but you’re distracted.
The wall’s not breaking.
My head is hurting.
But I can’t give up.
I can’t give in.
I’m stuck and frustrated.
The wall’s not breaking.
I’m lost and alone with you beside me.
I need help.
I can break the wall.
But together we are stronger.
We can break that wall.
This poem is both hilarious, and good as a piece of poetry. Students, and teachers can totally identify with the theme of frustration, and I especially enjoy how at the end there is a conclusion that leaves us hopeful for a solution. The repetition works well, and overall, it is quite a nice piece.
