Authors Note: During my cruise this past month I had the opportunity to try some new foods so I wanted to share these experiences. I am going to work on voice in this piece and try to write for the correct audience.
Food is a complicated thing. Some people will like one food but others will hate it. Food can be described by almost every adjective in the dictionary. These facts make food extremely difficult to write about. And it also means that my opinions will differ from a lot of other peoples opinions. Still I will give you my opinions.
Since the meals I ate were 5 courses I will start with appetizers. One appetizer I tried was chicken liver. It was gray and crumbly. When I put it in my mouth I think that they accidentally gave me something from the trash. In short, it was terrible. But the other appetizer I tried was much better. Escargot, yes, snails. But escargot is delicious! It is slightly squishy but not gummy. And the taste! It’s just indescribable! Escargot is definitely a food that you just have to try.
Next is soups. My least favorite was the french onion soup. It was almost sour. And it had a weird baked cheese thing on top. I don’t want to discourage you though as many people like french onion soup, I just didn’t. There were two soups that I did like though. The first one was a sweet corn soup. This soup was exactly what it sounds like, plus some bits of chorizo. But my personal favorite was the strawberry soup.It was a cold soup, but it didn’t need to be warm. It was sweet, and savory, and probably the most delicious soup I’ve ever tasted!
Finally I want to talk about entrées. I actually had two new kinds of chicken, chicken shanghai and panda chicken. Chicken shanghai is a chicken in a green sauce. It isn’t terribly interesting but it isn’t bad either. Panda chicken on the other hand is slightly spicy but full of flavor! But the best entrée I tried was sushi. There were two types of sushi that really stood out. First was eel sushi, it had an interesting flavor. But the second type I thought was better. It was called tamago sushi. This sushi was sweet! And it was almost buttery! Yummy!
In conclusion There were many foods that were good, and some that were bad. But I still want you to try all of these foods for your self because you never know, you might just like these foods!

I like the topic here, and I felt your voice was very strong. I would look to using a more sophisticated type of transition now that you can clearly organize well, and also look to the sentence structures. In this piece you wanted to be personable, so the short sentences work well, but in the future, let's try to expand the type of structures you use to form sentences. Overall, very fun piece.
