So like I said this weekend I went rollerskating with my family. And about two hundred and fifty other girls and their families. It was a Girl Scout event, the one that my mom organizes every year. This year was also my second year of roller blading instead of skating.
Of course since my mom is the organizer we have to arrive early so we were among some of the first people there. When we finally got in, I walked over to our usual table, sat down and started to put my blades on. These blades are my mom’s old ones, so they’d seen some wear and tear. They still work though, well aside from the one clasp that unbuckles when it’s too loose. Click, click click one blade on. Click, click, click and there’s the other one. So I scooch my shoes under the table, and go!
Since I don’t want to record every minute of rollerskating I’ll just put down some of the highlights. Let’s see I saw a few people from school, Kayla, Max, girls from my troop. And I would have won the red light, green light game if there hadn’t been another girl who wasn’t quite following the rules. We also played a dice game, where we all stood by a number and two girls rolled a giant die. If the number you are standing at is called then you are out. I got out on the first round though, so that was disappointing.
As usual this event was tons of fun. Unfortunately if your not a Girl Scout, or none of your relatives are Girl Scouts you can’t come, but you can still have fun at Skate Land. Just like me and the 256 other people there did.
