Dear Founding Fathers

Author's Note: Don't read this.  Just don't. Period.  End of author's note.

Dear Founding Fathers.  First off I'm sorry but there are just to many of you to reasonably put down in one sentence.  So you are simply the Founding Fathers.  Now you must know that I have no problems with any of you in particular.  In fact I suppose I should thank you for all you've done for this country, yadda yadda.  But I do want to point out a few flaws in the wording of your constitution.

First you must realize that your wording is a bit, shall I say biased.  You make it sound as if only men should be representatives of their respective states.  Now I know we live in different times and have different views but this is outrageous!  Women are just as capable as men, and you had no right to say otherwise.

Another thing that could have been clarified is that all people are truly equal.  You said that in the Declaration of Independence so why wouldn’t you follow through.  I mean to say that if you had just cleared up that little slavery issue then you could have avoided a whole war, a hundred years later.

Finally, though this oversight seems to have no detrimental affect on the United States you could have mentioned a term limit for presidents.  By over looking this small issue you created the potential of one man taking control of the country for years on end and potentially changing the very foundations of our great nation.  But like I said this never happened so it’s just a passing comment.

So in conclusion I have nothing but respect for you great men, and your achievements.  And although I have my issues with the constitution they aren't personal.  And again thank you for al you've done for the United States of America.

  1. I liked your author's note. I also liked your "passing comment" I thought that was more creative than just stating the obvious.
